Who am I?
My name is Joanne, and as a busy business owner with several businesses, wife, mother of 4 boys and 2 dogs, trying to balance my personal and professional life was a full-time job in itself, and my mind was always racing with to-do lists, meetings, and deadlines.
One day, while on a trip to a local craft shop I stumbled across a Crochet Kit to create Star Wars characters. I thought they looked great and thought my boys would love them and thought it would be super easy and fun to do. After a few attempts I realised it wasn't quite so straight forward and after having watched a few You Tube vidoes to help me through the intial stages I realised how rewarding and relaxing it was to make so may things out of wool!
At first, I was terrible at it, my stitches were uneven, and I couldn't seem to get the hang of it. Still I persisted, and soon, found myself getting lost in the rhythm of the hook and the yarn. Crocheting became my escape from the chaos of life, and I felt like it kept me sane.
I soon realized that I wasn't the only one who needed a little bit of peace in their lives and so decided to put together a crochet subscription box to help other busy individuals find some mindfulness and sanity in their lives too, just like I did.
I wanted to share my newfound love for crochet with others and help them find a little bit of peace in their hectic lives. After trialing some boxes they seemed to be a huge hit, and people loved the idea of receiving a box of crochet goodies every month.
The boxes include patterns, yarn, and all the supplies needed to create a beautiful crochet project with the added bonus of a mindfulness project too, making sure you take care of your mind health too.
People love the convenience of having everything they needed delivered right to their doorstep, and the fact that they could escape from their busy lives for a few hours to create something beautiful. I never imagined that my love for crochet would turn into a successful business, but am thrilled to be able to share my passion with others.
My crochet subscription box has become more than just a business, it is a way for me to bring a little bit of peace and joy into people's lives. As I reflect on my journey, I realize that sometimes the things that we stumble upon by accident can bring unexpected happiness and success into our lives.
